What our patients say
Frequently Asked Questions
What types of Nutrition appointments are available?
Our Registered Dietitian is happy to meet you in the office, but is also available by phone or HIPAA-compliant video conference.
How long should I receive food & nutrition consultation?
It depends! Some of our patients have specific questions and need only one or two consultation sessions. Others are really looking to reset their diet and relationship with food, and your care team is available to you until your goals are met.
How much does nutritional counseling cost?
Since not all patients seek nutritional counseling beyond the guidance provided by their internist, the cost for these services is not included in The Village Doctor membership fee. The fee varies, depending on the time spent with our registered dietician, or the program selected.
What is a "healthy diet"?
A healthy diet includes a variety of nutrient-rich foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats, while limiting sugars, salt, and saturated fats. The definition of a “healthy diet” is also very personal, and includes a review of your habits and your overall relationship with food.
How can I get nutritional advice about a medical condition?
Your internist at The Village Doctor always includes nutritional advice as part of their care. They collaborate with our registered dieticians as an expert resource. Excellent nutritional advice centers on the whole person and any chronic medical conditions they might have.
