results of Covid-19

**If you are getting tested before travel, please make sure that the test you choose is accepted by your planned airline or travel destination**

Outside of the hospitals and emergency rooms, it remains fairly difficult to get a rapid COVID-19 test at any local site. While you may have seen that some CVS and Walgreens Pharmacies are now offering rapid tests,  there are unfortunately no locations in the San Francisco Bay area offering this yet… Read more

Pregnancy Covid-19

The answer seems to be ‘yes,’ but with the important caveat that while the risk of severe COVID-19 in pregnant women is relatively higher than the risk of severe COVID-19 in non-pregnant reproductive-age women, the absolute risk of severe disease in either group is still quite low.  For example, a CDC report on over 23,000 pregnant women found the ICU admission rate to be 0.15% (or 1.5 in 1,000).

As of November 13, 2020, the CDC states, “Based on what is known at this time, pregnant women are at an increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19 compared to non-pregnant women. Additionally, pregnant women with COVID-19 might have an increased risk of adverse pregnancy outcomes, such as preterm birth.”

Reviewing two large datasets on the clinical course of COVID-19 in pregnancy, a team of Obstetrics and Gynecology experts on COVID-19 during pregnancy state, Pregnancy and childbirth generally do not increase the risk for acquiring SARS-CoV-2 infection, but appear to worsen the clinical course of COVID-19 compared with nonpregnant individuals of the same sex and age; however, most (>90 percent) infected persons recover without undergoing delivery.”… Read more

In Good Time

An uplifting poem to instill hope and faith

Life can seem an endless maze,

The twists and turns, lulls and delays,

But things always fall into place…

In good time.

Friends will sometimes go away.

Some may disappoint or others betray,

But new ones will come to stay…

In good time.

The hurt of getting something wrong,

And the lesson it often brings along

Are there, you see, to make you strong…

In good time.

Kindness is freely given away,

Unnoticed now, will somehow find its way

Back to you and come to stay…

In good time.

Efforts seem not to pay to plan?

Forge on friend, doing the best you can.

Fortune will find the deserving man…

In good time.

Life can be tough, there’s no doubt,

But hope is the thing we can’t do without.

Right things with joy will come about…

In good time.
