The Village Doctor

Hello, all, and Happy July!

What a lovely photo from last month’s TVD Spring Soiree. Now, you might wonder why I chose this one to share. The hint is that everyone in this photo has been instrumental in bringing my daughter into the world just last week! Yes, indeed, I am Dad (again) to our sweet little baby. 🌹🌹

From left to right: Dad (myself), then TVD’s newest and amazing doctor, Angela Jiang, MD. My lovely bride, Danyelle, in the center. Next, Dr. Justin Thompson of Dedicated Pregnancy Care, who has been instrumental in this adventure and finally Tanya Goodrich of Healthy Pelvis Physical Therapy. What a support team! Our daughter would especially like to thank Dr. Thompson for safely shepherding her from inside to earthside, with a big wave to the Labor and Delivery team at Sequoia Hospital. What a warm and supportive welcome to the world and world of being a mum…

Very much enjoying my “baby bubble,”

Eric,

Many of you will know of my longstanding friendship with the Taube family. I wrote of the loss of their patriarch, Tad Taube, back in September of 2025.  Now, in much happier news, I’m delighted to share that his wife, Dianne Panos Taube, will be taking over the reins at Taube Philanthropies and Investments. Tad would be very pleased that his foundational work is continuing and proud of Dianne for carrying forward the torch. You can read the more formal announcement in the PR Newswire:

Taube Philanthropies has named Dianne Taube as Chairman and CEO, the Board’s unanimous choice to lead one of California’s most influential family foundations into its next chapter. Dianne moves up from Vice Chairman and President, stepping into the top role following the passing of her husband, Tad Taube, alongside whom she shaped the foundation’s strategic direction for three decades. Board member Jeffrey Farber, CEO of the Koret Foundation, called her “the architect of its future,” noting her appointment signals both continuity with the foundation’s history and fresh momentum for what’s ahead.

Under Dianne’s leadership, the foundation is deepening its investments in youth mental health, education, medical innovation, and Jewish life and culture, with recent efforts including wildfire recovery support in California and Hawaii, the Santa Clara University Initiative for Student Well-Being, a pediatric cancer research fund at Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford, and the restoration of San Francisco’s Bay Lights installation. A Bay Area native and USC Marshall School graduate, she also serves as CEO of Taube Investments and has sat on the San Francisco Opera board since 1998, bringing the same community-driven approach that has produced partnerships with the Warriors, Sharks, and 49ers to fund youth programs.”

Congratulations, Dianne. Here’s to your success at continuing to change the world!

Yours, in health and resilience,
