Adult Wellness Program
Modeled after successful so-called “executive fitness programs”, The Village Doctor has created a Wellness Program starting with a comprehensive annual physical exam: expanded laboratory and electrocardiovascular screening coupled with the availability of dietary and fitness counseling is the foundation of our belief that “wellness” is much more than the simple absence of disease.
Nutritional Health Program
This program is designed to help you learn how to make better food choices, improve your health, and reach weight loss goals. Using counseling, education, coaching, or even a personalized supermarket tour, our Nutrition consultant will help you on your way to a more energetic, healthy, lifestyle.
The previous decade has finally seen advances in the visibility and understanding of issues relating to women’s health. The Village Doctor looks forward to leveraging this increased scientific knowledge with one-on-one attention to optimize the health of the women in our practice. Osteoporosis prevention, personalized hormone balancing, and gender specific exercise and nutritional counseling will also be available.
Acupuncture has been effectively used for the treatment of back pain, headache, migraine, and sports injuries. However, acupuncture provides more than pain relief. It is helpful in treating anxiety, insomnia, digestive problems, abdominal, menstrual cramps, weight control, infertility and much, much more.
Good nutrition is vital to good health. From one time sessions to ongoing weekly or monthly counseling and food coaching, our nutritionists offer successful programs to address cardiac care, sports nutrition, women’s health and wellness, family nutrition, and even recipe development and meal planning.
Physician prescribed therapy is provided by physical therapist/physiotherapist to address disorders of the muscles, bones, or joints by means of physical agents—heat, light, water, manual and electronic massage, and exercise. Whether for pain, injury, overuse, or competitive sport, our therapists endeavor to give each client the space, mobility, strength and skills they need to attend to their own journey toward healing.
Soft Tissue Therapy
Therapeutic massage such as orthopedic, sport, and Active Release Technique® are offered in addition to traditional spa Swedish massage. Whether as a one-time relaxation for mind and body or an integral part of your personal program, soft tissue therapists can address issues of chronic pain, speed healing of soft tissue injury, expedite recovery time between workouts, and prevent minor injuries from becoming chronic problems.
